★ The Library ★
Long-Term Growth
Eight sports, one cast of characters, and a library built to stay useful from age three through the end of elementary school.
One shelf, not eight purchases
Most children’s sports books are one-offs. A child gets interested in soccer, someone buys the soccer book, and that is the end of it — until they try basketball and the whole thing starts over with unfamiliar characters, a different reading level, and a different idea of what a coach sounds like.
Champion MVP is built as a library instead. Eight sports, one recurring cast, one voice, one set of values. A child who meets Zoe, Mikah, and TT learning soccer already knows them when they open the swimming book two years later. The vocabulary carries. The coach sounds the same. The lesson about showing up when it is hard is the same lesson, told again in a new setting, at an age when the child can hear it differently.
That is what makes it a library rather than a stack.
How it grows with a child
Three ways into every sport
Every sport in the library follows the same structure, so you always know what you are getting:
The eight sports today
Every sport has titles in print now. Two sets are one book short — Basketball needs its puzzle book and Ice Hockey needs its coloring book — and both are in production.
Beyond the books, the library also includes sixteen free animated episodes and a free browser game, with more games in production. See Digital Resources.
What we are adding
- Audiobook editions of every storybook, for the car, for bedtime, and for children who are not reading independently yet.
- Parent’s Guides for each sport — what a first season involves, what it costs, what gear matters, and what to say after a hard game.
- A Coach and Teacher’s Guide with practice plans and classroom activities built on the books.
- Spanish-language editions of every storybook.
- More sports. Football, softball, golf, gymnastics, flag football, wrestling, and pickleball are the ones we hear about most.
Tell us which sport is next
We would rather build the sport your child actually plays than guess. If the sport your family or your program needs is not in the library yet, tell us — we track every request, and it genuinely determines what we produce next.
Why we build it this way
Sports Media, Inc. has spent four decades in community sports, and the thing that has always been true is that a league invests in a child for fifteen years before that child ever reaches the top level. Almost nobody publishing for young athletes thinks on that timeline.
We are trying to. A book a family keeps on a shelf gets read for a decade. A library a school buys once gets taught for years. That is a longer relationship than a single title can hold, and it is why we build a series instead of a book.
